About Mount Putuo
Mount Putuo is located in the eastern waters of the Zhoushan Archipelago, Zhejiang Province. It features a subtropical maritime monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 16.1°C. The island boasts abundant plant resources and diverse coastal vegetation.
As one of China’s Four Great Buddhist Mountains, Mount Putuo is a renowned sacred site for Guanyin worship, as well as a nationally designated key scenic area. Its most iconic landmark is the 33-meter-tall South China Sea Guanyin Statue. Surrounded by the sea on all sides, Mount Putuo is hailed as the most tranquil place on earth.
